Scholarships
THE INCORPORATED SOCIETY OF IRISH/AMERICAN LAWYERS IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT IT IS NOW RECEIVING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2013 THOMAS P. THORNTON SCHOLARSHIP.

Each year, the Incorporated Society of Irish/American Lawyers awards a scholarship in the name of the late Thomas P. Thornton, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan, and a founding member of  the Society.  This year, the Society will be awarding two (2) $1,500.00 scholarships to those applicants who provide us with their resume, financial need, transcript of grades, and a short letter stating why they should be awarded the scholarship.  The recipients will be chosen from the law school applicants who are seniors, graduating in the year 2013, or juniors who will be graduating in the year 2014.

The winning applicants and their guests are invited to the annual dinner dance of the Society, this year to take place on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Detroit Athletic Club.  Additionally, each applicant is urged to join the Society at the reduced price of $10.00 for student membership.  The winning applicants will also have a waiver of their first years dues.

Applications for the scholarship may be obtained here.  Applications must be received by Friday, April 26, 2013 and mailed as indicated on the application.  A brief history of the Society, which is now entering its 35th year, is also available from your financial assistance office, or by contacting the Society.

THE SOCIETY LOOKS FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.
